At the same time, the country is classified as one of the world’s most vulnerable with regard to the effects of climate change. Cambodian NGOs are playing an important role in helping villagers to adapt when cultivation conditions change.

When the relationship ended after eight months, she was unable to return home. Her parents felt that she had shamed them.

    Almost 20 years after the genocide in Rwanda, it’s still difficult to have an open dialogue about what really happened and why. Suspicion and fear make it hard to move on and tensions are still present among different social groups. The Sida-supported IRDP project has generated a unique research and dialogue during the last ten years, and created a good basis for an open and inclusive political discussion as a way to build peace.

International Training Programmes

As part of Sida's work with capacity and institutional development Sida offers international training programmes (ITP) for participants from low-and middle-income countries in priority areas. ITP's methodology takes account of the desire to develop and reform that the participants' organization have expressed in their application to the program.
