Through it partnerships with Swedish civil society organisations, Sida makes a tangible difference in the everyday lives of people living in poverty around the world.

Sida works towards strengthening civil society organisations (CSOs). Sida believes that it is possible to meet the United Nations Millennium Development Goals through participating in and cooperating with CSOs in three key areas:  economic development; democracy and human rights; and conflict management, peace and security.

International Training Programmes

As part of Sida's work with capacity and institutional development Sida offers international training programmes (ITP) for participants from low-and middle-income countries in priority areas. ITP's methodology takes account of the desire to develop and reform that the participants' organization have expressed in their application to the program.
