The Church contributes to peace in Sudan

Religious associations can play a key role in a peace process. One example is Sudan, where the country’s Christian Council is working to overcome religious and ethnic opposition between different groups. The Swedish Church’s Lutherhjälpen aid organisation and Sida are contributing funding as part of the Conflict Management, Peace and Security focus area.

Environmental group joins fight against poverty

World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Sweden, the country’s leading organisation on nature and environmental issues, became one of Sida’s framework agreement organisations in 2009. With Sida’s development funding, WWF Sweden will strengthen its work on both poverty reduction and supporting civil society organisations.

The Colombia program

Swedish CSOs are invited to present proposals for financial support for projects/programs aiming at strengthened capacities of the Colombian civil society to contribute to a negotiated solution to the internal armed conflict through a broad based participatory process and increased respect for human rights in an environment of democratic governance and respect for the rule of law.

Sweden's aid - open and internationally comparable

Openaid.se is a web-based information service about Swedish aid built on open government data. The data is published according to the international IATI-standard, which means that it is freely available and compatible with data from other countries and donors.

International Training Programmes

As part of Sida's work with capacity and institutional development Sida offers international training programmes (ITP) for participants from low-and middle-income countries in priority areas. ITP's methodology takes account of the desire to develop and reform that the participants' organization have expressed in their application to the program.
