Planning Grants are limited to SEK 284 000 and are provided from Sida in order to enable partners in Sweden to meet with partners in China, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, South Africa, Namibia or Botswana and explore the possibilities of initiating a long term cooperation.

The primary aim for Partner Driven Cooperation (PDC) is to stimulate the emergence of sustainable cooperation between Swedish partners and partners in low and medium income countries, in order to contribute to poverty reduction and sustainable global development.

A planning grant is a limited and catalytic support that can be applied for by actors who are interested in initiating cooperation between a Swedish actor and an identified actor in one of the seven selective countries. The purpose of a Planning Grant is to enable partners to meet, explore possibilities, and initiate cooperation that leads to sustained relations over time.

The planning grant is limited to a maximum SEK 284 000 and is meant to catalyze further cooperation. Basic requirements when applying for a planning grant is that the planned cooperation is characterized by a mutual interest and cost sharing between the actors involved, and that the partners have an idea of how to sustain the relation financially after Sida’s support. The support can fund activities that stimulate and develop cooperation, but it should be noted that the grant cannot cover salaries for private actors.
