Innovations bring new solutions

Innovation and flexibility should permeate all of Sida's aid work. By supporting new ideas, forms of cooperation, partners and financing mechanisms, Sida can better work towards reducing poverty and opression.

International Training Programmes

As part of Sida's work with capacity and institutional development Sida offers international training programmes (ITP) for participants from low-and middle-income countries in priority areas. ITP's methodology takes account of the desire to develop and reform that the participants' organization have expressed in their application to the program.

Public sector

Twinning is a means for Swedish government agencies to contribute capacity building in cooperation countries' public administrations, in accordance with EU standards. The TAIEX programme finances exchange between officials in EU states and neighbouring countries wanting to join the union.

Sida contributes to building up research capacity at the universitets in low-incoming countries, enabling the countries to contribute to their own development. Aid to reasearch is long-term and includes areas such as health, agricultural techniques, environmental problems and eceonomic development.

Final reporting

December 2013 was the last month for the nearly 200 ongoing projects within the partner driven cooperation with the seven selective partner countries. Here we present many interesting results, and have compiled guidelines for our cooperating partners on the final reports.
