    Improved Property Tax Collection in Kosovo

    A new property tax system is implemented in Kosovo, generating substantially increased income to the municipalities. The Swedish Tax Authority has been involved in the implementation together with Kosovo’s Ministry of Economy and Finance.

    Liria – a refuge for maltreated women in Kosovo

    Arta is 23 years old, works as a hairdresser and lives a good life. The outlook was not so promising before. At the age of 15, she ran away from home and moved in with her boyfriend. When the relationship ended after eight months, she was unable to return home. Her parents felt that she had shamed them.

    A modern society needs statistics. Important government and municipal decisions about laws, investments, taxes and welfare programmes must be based on correct information. Statistics on people’s real situations are important in making decisions about how the state should act.

International Training Programmes

As part of Sida's work with capacity and institutional development Sida offers international training programmes (ITP) for participants from low-and middle-income countries in priority areas. ITP's methodology takes account of the desire to develop and reform that the participants' organization have expressed in their application to the program.
