Sweden has been providing Sri Lanka with development aid for 50 years. Contributing to a peaceful solution to the conflict has been the overall target in recent times. The government has now defeated the Tamil rebels and Sweden’s development cooperation has been phased out. The programmes and projects that we have supported are therefore being reinforced so that they can continue in the future.
