    The inauguration of the partnership project between the University of Cape Town in South Africa and Södertörns University College from Sweden was held in Cape Town between 3rd and 6th October 2010. The decision to support this collaboration was taken in May 2009 for the establishment of the International School for Transparency -IST.

In the late 1990s, two cities deepened their relations and commenced long-term cooperation with support from Sida. Today, Gothenburg and Nelson Mandela Bay enjoy a lively cooperation that benefits development on many different fronts in both cities.

International Training Programmes

As part of Sida's work with capacity and institutional development Sida offers international training programmes (ITP) for participants from low-and middle-income countries in priority areas. ITP's methodology takes account of the desire to develop and reform that the participants' organization have expressed in their application to the program.
