National child programme to improve health

UNICEF's Child Survival Programme aims to help reduce child mortality rate in DR Congo, an extensive country where children are severely affected by disease and malnutrition.

Our work in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

More than 100,000 soldiers have been disarmed in DR Congo – one fifth of them children. Sida has also supported teachers’ further education and contributed to half a million children receiving school material. In our continuing work, the emphasis is on reducing violence towards women and improving law and order.

Swedish donation to Trust Fund for Victims

Sida has announced a voluntary contribution of 10 million Swedish crowns - approximately 1.1 million Euros - to the Trust Fund for Victims at the International Criminal Court.

International Training Programmes

As part of Sida's work with capacity and institutional development Sida offers international training programmes (ITP) for participants from low-and middle-income countries in priority areas. ITP's methodology takes account of the desire to develop and reform that the participants' organization have expressed in their application to the program.
