Evaluation Brief 2012:1

Evaluation Study of Long-term Swedish Development Co-operation with Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Laos

Published: Saturday, October 27, 2012

Changed: Tuesday, November 27, 2012

In 2007 the Swedish government decided to consolidate the number of countries it conducted development co-operation with. Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Laos were among the countries with which Swedish development co-operation would be phased out.

To evaluate Swedish development co-operation with these countries and summarise experiences and lessons learned three independent evaluations were commissioned by Sida.

The evaluations' primary aim is to provide Sida with an understanding of how its development activities have supported poverty reduction over time: Did Swedish aid contribute to poverty reduction in these countries? What are the lessons learned for future development co-operation?

Find the answers to these questions and many more in the evaluation brief below.

Read the brief.
