The private sector provides new opportunities for the poor

The private sector is increasingly involved in active citizenship. The concepts and opportunities of “trade rather than aid” were discussed at a Sida-hosted seminar. “We need the private sector in development. Governments do not create jobs,” said Ewa Björling, Sweden’s minister for Trade.
